In 1905, the patriotic overseas Chinese Jian Zhaonan and Jian Yujie two brothers founded the Nanyang Brothers Tobacco Company, and launched the "Double Happiness" brand cigarettes in 1906. In 1909, after the Jane brothers reorganized the company, they launched "Red Double Happiness", which is in the same vein as "Double Happiness" in taste. In 1916, Nanyang Company set up a factory in Shanghai to produce cigarettes, and "Red Double Happiness" began to produce in Shanghai.
